Mayra Vallejo was born in Quito, Ecuador and moved to the United States when she was only 12 years old. Since she was a little girl she knew that acting and modeling where her passion in life; she participated in the different activities of her schools like plays, festivals, and fashion shows. Her first encounter with the entertainment business was back in 1986 when she filmed her first commercial Chupetin hair shampoo for babies. In high school, she founded the International Night-a showcase of traditional dances and overseas fashions of the homelands of the members of the student body. The event became a lasting tradition that engages the community as well To keep her passion going, Mayra studied modeling at John Casablancas in the Baltimore, Coral Springs, and Miami locations. She participated in different fashion shows and promotional modeling events. Furthermore Mayra began training to become an actress with the renowned Hector and Martha Zavaleta at the Actors Workshop in Miami, FL. Mayra studied Theater at Florida International University. Also she has been coached by many other great personalities in the industry like Adriana Barraza, Anna Silvetti, and Stevie Vallance. Her acting career started at the Las Dos Caras de Ana a soap opera for Televisa and since then she has participated in many different Soap Operas, TV Series, Commercials, and Voiceovers. Mayra has a motto "Life is about risk, because without it there is no gain" Her career is on the way we can only expect more for the future.
