Paul Sukhija is a writer/director whose commissioned work includes films, documentaries, TV series and shorts. He has explored the realities, fantasies and myths of British-Asian life in his films and is interested in colliding concepts and genre-bending ideas. Born in London, schooled in the Himalayas, Paul read Film and Photographic Arts at the University of Westminster and later completed a Masters in Screenwriting at The London College of Printing. He was commissioned by Anglia Television to write and direct a short drama, The Drive, for their First Take new director's strand. The Drive attracted a record number of viewers for that season's First Take and was selected for the inaugural Bite the Mango Film Festival. It went on to win a number of awards at international festivals. He subsequently made numerous short films, including a ten-minute docu-drama, Too Fast, for BBC2's 10x10 series and conceived/co-wrote/directed a low budget comedy series, Bollyweird Inferno, for Channel Four's 4Later strand. Paul has also acted as an assistant director and producer on feature projects. Aside from his film work Paul has written and illustrated a volume of stories for children. He is writing and developing a slate of feature projects.
