Born on the mean streets of Reading, Pennsylvania, Alicia Lawlor Fenstermacher burst into the public eye with the release of the 1987 blockbuster, "Time of Tears." Alicia portrays a young Catholic school girl, singled out by the religious authority to stand up and answer hard questions about America. With this one single film, the plucky and charismatic young ginger-haired Alicia catapulted herself into the hearts of moviegoers throughout the greater Berks county area. Not since the Patty Duke Show of 1963 had the back of someone's head so captivated audiences of all ages. Initially considered a strong contender, Alicia eventually lost out to seasoned actress Olympia Dukakis for 1987's Best Supporting Actress. Sadly, it was a defeat from which Alicia's career never truly recovered. She continued to live and attend school in Reading, Pennsylvania for the next decade, but appeared only in a few small, independently produced direct-to-VHS family films. Today, Alicia is a highly successful licensed social worker and nursing home administrator in the Lehigh Valley, Pennsylvania area, just a few dozen miles from Reading. She continues to enrich the lives of many, through her dedication and devotion to the betterment of mankind.
