Barbara Barcia

Bárbara Bárcia is a Brazilian journalist, producer, director, actress and writer, whose main mission is to promote gender equality. She holds a Bachelor degree in Communications Studies, major in journalism, from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, with an extension course on theater from Sorbonne University. As a reporter and TV presenter, she has more than five years of experience in event coverage and content production. Bárbara is one of the founders of FLUXA films, a multimedia company based in Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo. FLUXA is focused on empowering women by sharing their narratives with the world. At the beginning of 2019, she produced a documentary series named "The Future is Female", released by GNT, a Brazilian news and information cable channel associated with the Rede Globo television network. Partnering with two other female journalists, they traveled through Iceland, Pakistan, and Brazil in the search of addressing gender equality and collecting different stories and perspectives on women's rights.
