William Davies King is professor of Theater and Dance at the University of California Santa Barbara. He is the author of books about Henry Irving, Arthur Conan Doyle, Edward Gordon Craig, Wallace Shawn, Eugene O'Neill, and Agnes Boulton. In 2008 the University of Chicago Press published his Collections of Nothing, which was widely reviewed and named one of the best books of the year by Amazon.com. Part essay, part memoir, it considers how a life might go into a collection--and then come out. His work in the art of bibliolage, as well as various lists of collections, can be found at Ruined Books: The Art of Bibliolage.
