Sophia Davey was born in Cairns, North Queensland to British Father, a Fisherman and Cypriot Mother an Artist. Raised in an aboriginal community until a move to the UK where she was then educated in Yorkshire England at highly regarded school, Pocklington Grammar, where her passion for performing on stage was born, graduating with high distinctions. Returning to Australia Sophia was cast as the lead in her first film at the age of 17, filmed in Port Douglas in the late 1990's. This lead her to then train with some of Australia's best acting teachers at NIDA (Gavin Robins - Head of Movement) VCA (Lyndie Davies - Voice and Text), Melbourne Actors Lab (Peter Kalos), Ivana Chubbuck and more recently, Tony Miendl, Margie Haber - for the last year and currently with and mentored by Susan Batson, New York USA. Over the past 10 years Sophia has continued to build her career and has performed in leading theatres in Melbourne, Sydney and New York, worked with accomplished directors and writers for the screen and commercially, staring in award winning films, Liz Drives, Maggie May, Hunter and Australian TV Shows, Neighbours, Playing for Keeps as well as US TV Series, Black Jacks. Sophia continues to explore her work in film and theatre and has now settled in Melbourne, Australia with her husband and 2 sons.
