Ernesto Soto is a journalist, writer and producer. As executive producer he developed the feature film "Joaquim", directed by Marcelo Gomes, a Brazil-Portugal co-production selected for the Golden Bear Competition of Berlin Film Festival in 2017. He has also co-produced Marcelo Gomes' documentary "Waiting for the Carnival" (Estou me guardando para quando o carnaval chegar), which premiered in the Panorama selection of Berlin Film Festival in 2019 and "Paloma", also directed by Marcelo Gomes', to be released in 2021. He is working on Alê Abreu's "Voyagers of the Enchanted Forest" (animation, in production); Cao Guimaraes & Marcelo Gomes' "Leda" (fiction, in development), and the documentaries "Lisbon in the Backmirror" and "Right of Freedom", both to be directed by Gomes. He was the creator of the TV series Great Civilizations (2010) and The Time Compass (2009), directed by Fede Badia, developed in collaboration with Astrolab Motion (Argentina) and CCI Entertainment (Canada), the latter sold in more than 20 countries, including Korea (EBS) and Australia (ABC3). Ernesto Soto has a Master's Degree Journalism from Northwestern University (Chicago, U.S.) and degrees in Business Management from Universidad de Navarra (Spain) and Universidad del Pacifico (Peru). From 2005 to 2013 he was general producer of Sol90 Audiovisual, based in Barcelona (Spain) and Buenos Aires (Argentina). The company produced children's animation series. From 2002 to 2004 he was a general manager of the 24-hour news channel based in Peru, Canal N.
