Burak Besir

Internationally acclaimed, classically trained and award-winning Flutist and Composer. As a versatile Composer, his compositions incorporate rich and diverse styles from orchestral to contemporary and ethnic music and instruments. Living across three continents, experiencing diverse cultures and music styles gave unique versatility that combined his excellence technique, musical expression, and improvisation skills as a Composer and Performer. His classic and ethnic compositions and arrangements performed at the most distinguished music halls across the world. He performed at the top-notch music venues and shared the stage with top musicians and artists. Some of his performances include Oscar Concert with Academy Orchestra, Boston Symphony Hall, Kennedy Center, Washington DC, Venetian Theatre and Wigmore Hall concerts. Received numerous awards and recognition including UK Young Concert Artist award, Arif Mardin Recognition award from Berklee College of Music and recently received Global Music Award for his album "Passion" which is released in 2017 in America. As a multi-instrumentalist, he has over 65 ethnic woodwind instruments collection (including Turkish Ney, Duduk, Ottoman Zurna, Piccolo, Penny Whistles, Chinese Flutes, Indian Bansoori Flutes, Kena Flutes, Ocarinas, Low Irish Flutes ) that he uses in his compositions, recordings, and performances. He also plays Guitar, Oud, Baglama, Turkish Banjo in his soundtracks and original compositions. Received Contemporary Writing and Production Degree from Berklee College of Music, masters degree as "performing soloist" from Royal Scottish Academy and Conservatory education from Ankara National Conservatory. He composed, arranged and performed numerous films, TV shows, commercials and documentaries in America and in international markets.
