Bill Moore

Bill Moore was born and raised in Orlando, FL and became an Orlando Police Officer in 1993. He retired from the Orlando Police Department in 2013 after serving as a law enforcement officer for over 20 years and continued to serve as a Reserve Orlando Police Officer for another year; an appointed non-paid position. Prior to becoming an Orlando Police Officer, Bill held a civilian position as a Police Cadet. Collectively, Bill has participated in law enforcement operations and criminal investigations for over 26 years in Orlando, FL. Bill has also traveled to Brazil to instruct the Militar and Civil Police in best practices for conducting financial crime and digital forensic examinations. As an Executive Board Member of the Fraternal Order of Police Orlando Lodge #25, Bill Moore arranged for the use of the old meeting hall, scheduled for demolition, to be used by Gerald J. Godbout III for his first film entitled Legends (2004). This horror film was shot for a contest and was also released on-line as a free download. Since its release in 2004 "Legends" has been downloaded more than 500,000 times. While a Task Force Agent with the Metropolitan Bureau of Investigation and in 2008, Executive Producer/Direction for Real Vice Cops Uncut, Bryan Albright and his film crew, rode along with Bill Moore as escorts and prostitutes were arrested in Orlando, FL. Real Vice Cops Uncut is a shorter, faster-paced version series showing the human side of law enforcement officers. In 2014, Bill played the role of a Police Officer in the independent feature, film Dutch Book (2015), directed by James Repici and produced by Emmy award winner Sylvia Caminer. Dutch Book's ensemble cast includes some of the best character actors working today in Keith David (Platoon), Richard Edson (Do the Right Thing), and Roger Guenveur Smith (American Gangster). Bill was asked to play the role due to his actual experience as a law enforcement officer in Orlando, FL. Bill has long supported local film producers and volunteered his services in this role. The Orlando Film Festival awarded the 2015 Audience Choice Feature Film Award to Dutch Book (2015) and the Gasparilla International Film Festival (GIFF) awarded the 2015 Grand Jury Best Florida Production to Dutch Book, Director James Repeci. Bill also provides Film Technical Advisor Services to directors in order to maintain realism, accuracy, and continuity in their films as it relates to law enforcement techniques and practices. In March of 2015, Bill Moore formally announced his candidacy in the 2016 election for Orange County Commissioner, District 3 in Orlando, Orange County, FL and supports Orange County Government's efforts in creating public-private partnerships that foster education and employment opportunities in the film production industry. In 2015, Orange County welcomed a new digital entertainment studio to Full Sail University and if elected, Bill will continue to advocate Orange County's participation in initiatives that drive film production in Orlando, FL. Bill remains active in the community and serves on the Executive Board for the Fraternal Order of Police Orlando Lodge #25 as State Trustee.
