Marena Atallah was born and raised on the outskirts of Los Angeles, California. She is the oldest of three siblings. Music is a part of her talent. She started learning piano at four years old. Marena learned piano from her mother, a family friend, then, Karina, who stated her student-teacher lineage dated back to Ludwig Van Beethoven! Marena was inspired by her Kindergarten teacher to continue to play piano, to learn guitar, dance, and sing in multiple languages. Marena debuted her first singing solo at five years old as the character "Jenny Jenkins," a girl who was asked if she would wear red, blue, yellow, green, or purple, each with a clever reply in song. Marena continued singing in choirs through out primary and secondary school, and through college, singing in English, Spanish, German, and Latin. She sang in various church choirs, and was the song leader for one church for over two decades. She was often requested to sing at funeral masses and wedding ceremonies. To date, she is in a local church choir. Her acting started in high school, as a freshman in the musical "Bye-Bye Birdie," and as a senior, in the play "Alice in Wonderland." A few years later, for fun she would go to a local watering hole and sing karaoke. There, she met Paul Marich--singer, actor, dancer, choreographer, writer, director--who, over several years, would cast her to sing and dance as various characters in his productions of off-Broadway Musical Revues called "Not Your Mama's Broadway," "Not Your Mama's Broadway, Too!" "Not Your Mama's Christmas," "Not Your Mama's Christmas 2," and act in a play "The Ritz." Alternating with karaoke in the loft, at the same watering hole downstairs, she learned Country-Western line dancing, two-stepping, one-step, shadow dancing, and waltzing. She befriended the popular Disc-Jockey who was the leader of a Country-Western, Hip-Hop fusion dance troupe called the L.A. Wranglers. She auditioned, and joined this troupe for three years. She traveled with this troupe to various cities in California and across three states to perform at rodeos, and various events. Her official acting credits so far include being Claire, a passer-by in "Dorner: Manifesto for Murder," in 2014. She will be reading for the character, May, in the pre-production of "A Grieving Man" in 2022. When she is not singing, dancing, or acting, she enjoys reading, drawing, cooking, watching movies on 35 mm film in classic one-room movie theaters, and being with friends and family.
