Los Alamitos, California native Brenna Malloy is a writer-director who has a passion for bringing female characters with depth to the silver screen and an affinity for directing action. "Rocket", her MFA thesis film, won a Student Academy Award® in 2016 and screened in more than 40 festivals in eight countries. Malloy started her television directing career with an episode of NBC's "Chicago Fire" in early 2020. In the following 18 months she directed two more episodes of "Chicago Fire" as well as two episodes of Fox's "9-1-1". As a participant of Ryan Murphy's Half Initiative, Malloy shadowed executive producer and director Brad Buecker on "9-1-1"in 2018. She is a fellow of the 2019-20 NBC Female Forward program and graduated from the University of San Francisco with a BA in media studies and a minor in theater. She studied abroad for two terms at Drama Centre London and went on to earn an MFA in film production with an emphasis in directing from Chapman University. She is represented by Verve, The Radmin Company, and Morris Yorn.
