John Ondo is a Producer, Director & Editor who specializes in documentaries. He began his career in television at the age of 15, first volunteering at a local viewer-supported television station. In his 18 years as a Director and Producer at the small station, he developed his skills creating original programs in News, Sports and Documentaries on tight timetables and minimum crews. His love for live television thrust him into producing and on-air reporting. He was nominated for two Emmys while in Lima. He left WTLW after 18 years to move to Columbus where he was Operations Manager, Senior Producer and Media Director at several large television operations producing syndicated programs. Wanting to return to his work in documentaries, in 2008 he founded his production company Ondo Media, which would specialize in telling the stories of small town America. John has won three OVC NATAS Emmys for photography, lighting and producing and has received multiple Telly Awards including a Silver Telly. John's continued passion to reinvest in the next generation has him teaching filmmaking classes at local community art centers. He also wrote a book in 2012 called "How to Avoid a Media Meltdown". John is the father of 3 children from his first marriage and is married to his wife Angel and living in New Albany, Ohio where he continues to produce short and long form documentaries and films for web.
