Shanika McKinney is an actress based in Los Angeles; she is originally from Chicago, Illinois and was raised in the South Side Chicago area. Her father, Varney Greene, is a musician and music teacher in Nashville, Tennessee and has worked with artists Kenny Rogers and Dizzy Gillespie. She graduated from the University of Wisconsin at Madison and majored in International Studies. While enrolled at Northwestern University's MBA Program, she studied improvisation at The Second City theatre group in Chicago. In 2013, due to loving acting more than an MBA degree, she dropped out of graduate school and instead graduated from The Second City. The following year she moved to Hollywood and has continued her journey of pursing her passion of acting. Most recent indie film credits include The Golden Boy and Drunk Text. Shanika has trained with reputable acting instructors at Tasha Smith Acting Workshop and continues to further develop her craft in Los Angeles.
