He was born and grew up in Bilbao, and after living in several cities, since 1994 he settled in Cantabria. He is a Spanish director and scriptwriter, author of the Trilogy of Memory: El hombre que murió dos veces, La Escuela Fusilada and Los otros Guernicas. For this last work he was pre-selected in 2012 by the Spanish Academy of Cinema with five nominations -best film, best novel direction, best editing, best photography direction and best documentary film- for the nominations for the 2012 Goya Awards. He has also directed the short documentary, "Marea. Los efectos del Prestige en Cantabria". He has been director of the magazine "Trabajadores de la Enseñanza. Sección Cantabria", member of the School Council and of the Vocational Training Council of the Autonomous Community. He combines teaching at La Marina Secondary School in Bezana with directing documentaries. He coordinates the project "Vamos de Cine" at La Marina Secondary School, which aims to integrate cinema as a teaching tool. He also directs the Short Film exhibition in the educational field "Vamos de Cine".
