Katia Scarton-Kim is a director and actress. Graduated from the National Conservatory of Dramatic Art in Lausanne, Switzerland, she directed her first film "Kristal" in 2004. In 2007, she made a documentary "Saturday, more or less" selected at the Festival Circuito Off in Venice and then in different festivals in Italy and in the world. In 2009 she directed "Les Liqueurs d'Alice", a fiction produced by Baïacedez Films Production. The film was selected at the Festival Court Devant and at "Les Escales Improbables" in Montreal. From 2009 to 2012, she works closely with the cinema mission of the city of Paris, which supports 4 documentaries she co-edited on migrant women in France. In 2015 she directed " The mind of Wolf " the film was broadcast on French television and makes over 20 festivals all over the world. In 2016, she co-directed "Sous la peau" a first feature film which has been selected for the Cinema le Saint André des Arts in "The Discoveries of the Saint André des Arts" and selected by Cinemakers Women 2017. "Bacha Posh", her latest film, was pre-purchased by ARTE France and TSR Suisse. The film was screened at HCR World Refugee Day. She won the price Women in Film and Television and Media IT and The Best Director's' price. Katia Scarton-Kim essentially anchors her work around themes related to contemporary realities, trying to decipher "the human" in its complexities and paradoxes.
