Aris Federman is an actor, screenwriter, director, and co-founder of Blue Oak Productions. As a kid, Aris's parents would often find themselves appointed makeshift cinematographers for his up-and-coming, low budget, indie productions... More accurately, they held a camcorder while he made his action figures fight one another. Most people would call them home movies. Aris calls them, 'Early Explorations in Drama'. Those 'early explorations' soon evolved into formalized training and then a career path. Aris studied acting at the Tennessee Governor's School for the Arts (2018) and earned his BFA in Acting from Pace University (2022). While studying acting in university, Aris began exploring filmmaking & directing as a means of continuing to tell stories through the Covid-19 pandemic. Out of the pandemic came his first short, 'Distant', which premiered at the Crescent City Film Festival in 2020. Upon graduating Pace, his second short film, 'Rose Tint', premiered at the Santa Fe Film Festival. It was at this point that Aris co-founded Blue Oak Productions, intent on the mission to bring people together through out-of-the box storytelling. To Aris, stories are the ultimate expression of empathy. Historically, they have always brought people from different walks of life together. Be it by a campfire, in a theater, or on a screen- stories have the power to unite. Wherever stories are told, people gather. Aris intends to use his voice as an artist to continue the tradition of unity, empathy, and togetherness through storytelling.
