Elena Rossini

Elena Rossini is an Italian filmmaker, DP, photographer, multimedia producer and speaker. Her latest film project is The Illusionists, a feature-length documentary about the marketing of unattainable beauty ideals around the world. Filming locations included the U.S., U.K., the Netherlands, France, Italy, Lebanon, India and Japan. The Illusionists was selected by Indiewire as its "Project of the Day" and won the title of "Project of the Week" by popular vote. Dozens of blogs and print publications - including Vogue, New York Magazine and Jezebel - have written about the film. Educational distribution for The Illusionists has just launched via the Media Education Foundation; Rossini is currently taking the film on tour at universities, companies and non-profits in Europe and North America. Rossini is also the founder and editor-in-chief of No Country for Young Women, a website whose aim is to provide positive role models for young girls. The site features over 100 interviews of women representing five continents, seven decades, and over two dozen professions - from NASA engineers, to illustrators, architects, filmmakers and entrepreneurs. In 2014 Rossini co-founded Gender Gap Grader with Elian Carsenat - a platform empowering companies and organizations with innovative tools to measure the gender gap. In addition to these projects, Rossini also works as a freelance videographer, photographer and writer. Her work has appeared in Corriere della Sera, Jezebel, Indiewire, Adios Barbie and Gender Across Borders. Rossini frequently speaks at conferences around the world - most recently Women of the World in London, the 3% Conference in San Francisco, InspireFest in Dublin, Art Night Venezia, and APIDays in Paris and Berlin. In October 2014 Rossini was selected for the prestigious Young Leaders program by the Council for the United States and Italy.
