Alexandra Otero Mahjouri

Alexandra, was born in Modesto, CA to two physicians, Farhad and Altagracia. Despite growing up in a family of physicians, engineers, media moguls, and military experts, Alexandra felt a connection to the performing arts. Starting ballet at the age of 3, she danced ballet for about 10 years in CA and Puerto Rico until an injury led her to trade ballet for theatre. Alexandra has always been more of an observer of life, as well as a "Renaissance personality," keeping an interdisciplinary approach to life with a multitude of interests, which reflects in her acting approach and career interests. While a student in college, she completed Carollyn DeVore's On-Camera Commercial Acting workshop in CA. However, she returned to school and graduated with her degree from the University of Miami, where she further honed her acting abilities. Fun Facts: -She was born on Mother's Day -Her maternal grandfather was Cuban anchorman Evelio Otero, Sr. who was the first broadcast journalist in PR and among the first in Latin America, initiating Telemundo in Puerto Rico. He later went on to work for the Voice of America in Washington, D.C. -She is half Persian (father) and half Spanish (her mother is half Cuban, half Puerto Rican) -Alexandra, being an avid fan of vocal impressions, auditioned for America's Got Talent in 2009. -Alex also grew up an athlete, having played T-ball in elementary school, and tennis in high school (Jr. Varsity 1 year, Varsity 3 years)
