Tabata Godfrey is an actress, screenwriter, and filmmaker based in Atlanta, Georgia. She started theater acting as a child in São Paulo, Brazil, and did so for 10 years. At age 18, she put her theater career on hold to attend college to become a Physical Therapist and dedicated the next decade working in child development with special needs children. After moving to the United States, Tabata resumed her career as an actress and screenwriter. Tabata spent four years studying method acting and theater in Florida, then moved to New York City to study film acting at the New York Film Academy. Tabata has been fortunate to work with the best in the industry, including Kelly AuCoin, David Costabile, Asia Kate Dillon, Maggie Siff, Damian Lewis, and Paul Giamatti on Showtime's "Billions." Tabata also wrote, produced, directed, and starred in a short film titled "Cli·Ché." She has also written her first feature film screenplay, "Entanglement," a hidden story of politics, sex, and murder that was selected as a quarter-finalist in the 2021 BlueCat Screenplay Competition. Enlightened by her passions of filmmaking, screenwriting, theater, and her conviction that art is an amazing door and window of opportunity to tell untold stories and unheard tales, Tabata continues on her path to success.
