Amanda Dodson is one of those remarkable multi-talented artists on the horizon; a thespian and a true artiste to watch in the coming years. From her stellar performance as Maureen Johnson, Cat Scratch Girl, in the Edison Theatre Company's magnificent production of Rent, her starring role as Sister Mary Xavier in the 2015 Showtime production of Pray for US Sinners, to her work in the upcoming television production Here's to US for Warner Brothers, Amanda, as a young artist, has made an important mark in the theatrical arena not seen at this stage of introduction in many years. She has begun to set the standard for a new generation of actors coming into the age of crossover media productions for stage, and or screen, to be made available to an instantaneous audience on all electronic mediums at the same time. Beginning with commercial work for Honda and PepsiCo, Amanda quickly moved on to notable performances in television and the theatre. Given the nature of the difficulty, and the selection of the roles she has attempted, the scope and the breath of her work, very earlier on in her career, speaks for itself. Currently, Smith Sabatino Productions has presented her for the starring role in the development of an Off Broadway production - with advents from prominent select stars - scheduled for the Fall of 2016. The Production titled, "Really, This Is My World" which Amanda is co-writing with producer Carl J. Sabatino. Though a demanding undertaking as lead, Amanda has moved into production; once again, demonstrating a command of the medium past her years and relative experience. The production will present Amanda's talent as an on stage host and story teller of events in this theatrical presentation juxtaposed to the time and the performers (in on stage appearances) that have come before her. Her look at today through the eyes of yesterday in performance and song. One critic, in a special preview showing, called it ". . . enthralling . . . to see how it may have been to what has become through the eyes of a young woman seemingly lost in time . . . truly a tour de force for Ms. Dodson." Uncompromising in her role selection, determined to present a new talent for her era, and a place mark on the theatrical and performing industries, Amanda Dodson is a 'woman for all seasons' in the fullest context of its meaning. Today, a coming artist and performer, tomorrow, surely to await the anxious anticipation of a demanding public who will want to see more.
