Chilean actor, playwright, screenwriter and theater director. He began his training at the Theater School of the University of Chile, then pursued postgraduate studies at the Actor's Studio in New York, at the Dell'Arte School of Physical Theater in California and, later, a Master's Degree in Film Theory at the City University of New York. Calderón's works, recognized worldwide, are characterized by their problematization of the opposition between interior (cultural order) and exterior (crisis) and his interest in investigating the politics, aesthetics and ethics that unfold in post-dictatorship Chile. He has received national and international awards such as the Altazor National Arts Award for Playwriting for the play "Neva" (2007), the Platinum Award for Best Screenplay for the film "Neruda" (2017) and the Osella Award at the Venice International Film Festival for "El Conde" (2023).
