Filmmaker Christin Turner has honed her skills in directing, producing, editing, and writing to bring to life captivating narratives that challenge our perceptions of the past and cultural tradition with a modern, contemporary perspective. Her use of color and light has been described as a fusion of impressionistic and psychedelic styles, resulting in a beautiful and immersive viewing experience. Turner holds an MFA from the University of Colorado at Boulder and a BA from the University of California San Diego. Her work has been recognized and celebrated at numerous international film festivals and cultural programs, including the Museum of Modern Art, The Getty Villa, International Film Festival Rotterdam, Karlovy-Vary, Edinburgh International Film Festival, Festival du Nouveau Cinema Montreal, and Kurzfilmtage Winterthur. She was awarded the De-Framed Prize in 2017 at Kurzfilmtage Hamburg, and featured online at vdrome.org and Frieze. Her work has been supported with residencies at MacDowell, the Bogliasco Foundation and the Villa Sträuli. In addition to her personal films, as a director Turner has created memorable content for record companies, fashion labels, and live events. She currently splits her time between Berlin, Germany and Los Angeles, California.
