Kayla Bret (Formerly Kayla King from a previous marriage) is an American actress. She was born in Arizona to Lori (Plante) and Al Bret. Her family moved to Colorado where she attended half of high school at Cherokee Trail High School in Aurora and the other half at Douglas County High School in Castle Rock. Kayla found her true calling in plays, musicals and even in production class. She performed in various shows, including "Singin' in the Rain" where she got to play the part of Zelda Zanders and "Sound of Music" in which she portrayed Maria. After high school, Kayla attended Metro State College in hopes of earning her degree in photography. Soon after, she began to feel that this was not the right path for her, she left the school. Eager to try again, Kayla enrolled in the Ohio Center for Broadcasting. It was here that she was exposed to being on camera and working on production. Kayla had discovered a love for audio production and began to feel more comfortable in front of a camera. The internships from this school allowed her to peek into the entertainment world from the radio point of view and sparked a passion for promotions. Two years after earning her certification, Kayla had been married for one year and felt something was missing in her life. She auditioned for "High School Musical" with Front Range Theatre Company and landed the part of Sharpay. Everything clicked and she knew that she was meant to act. Kayla started getting extras roles and gradually moved into larger supporting and lead roles. She was also the Director of Theatre and Film of Cabaret Otaku, a Denver based theatre company. After going through a divorce, she found herself moving to Phoenix with her family and starting her life over again. Her love for acting still stays the same and she is always on the hunt for different roles.
