Dillon Daniel Mutyaba

Director | Actor | Writer
Date of birth : 09/08/1993
City of birth : Kampala, Uganda

Born September 8, 1993 in Kampala, Uganda, Dillon Daniel Mutyaba is the youngest of two children of an Accountant mother, Angel, from Uganda, and Ugandan businessman, Andrew. He moved to the United States with his family at the age of 8. After settling in Tucson, Arizona, his 3rd grade teacher encouraged him to join the schools theatre program as a way of making new friends, thus catching the acting bug. Seeking more stage experience outside of school, he went on to study and perform with local theater companies. While on stage, he found a knack for singing so he joined the Tucson Arizona Boy Chorus and studied classical music while traveling nationally and internationally, performing with the chorus and putting on over 150 concerts by the age of 15. On Saturdays after church, it became a ritual for his mother to take him and his sister to blockbuster, allowing them to rent a movie every weekend. Throwing himself into the works of cinema, he became inspired by the array of eccentric characters played by Jim Carrey, Steve Martin, Eddie Murphy, Robbin Williams and Phillip Seymour Hoffman. He found an obsession in creating interesting characters from his imagination, often getting himself into trouble when he brought those characters to school. After graduating high school, Dillon Daniel attended the University of Arizona as a theatre major, continuing to further his study of the theater and it's playwrights. Shortly after graduating, he moved to Los Angeles. By 2016 he attended the 69th Cannes Film Festival to premiere Snaily, a short-film starring him.
