Writer-performer Nancy Ellen Shore can be seen as Dr. Watson in Emmy-nominated director Paul Starkman's multi-award-winning feature Wheels (2018), which won Best Film at the 2019 Harlem International Film Festival, First Place (Feature) in the 2019 San Francisco Black Film Festival, and Best Narrative Feature and Audience Award at the 2018 Woodstock Film Festival. Other recent film work: Dorothy (lead), an aging punk rocker grieving her best friend's death while struggling with eviction in Classic Punk (2019 short), and Matty's Aunt in Romina Schwedler's The Visit, a multi-award-winning 2016 short costarring Academy Award-nominee June Squibb. Recent theater work: Mrs. Higgins in New Bedford Festival Theatre's My Fair Lady starring Peter Gregus (Broadway's Jersey Boys) at the Zeiterion Theatre. Recent TV: Five seasons (81 episodes) as a recurring State Department Advisor/Senior White House Staff (core ensemble) on Madam Secretary (CBS); Recurring Inmate (core ensemble), Orange Is the New Black, Seasons 1-5 (Netflix). Nancy has been featured since 2012 in many other TV shows and movies, playing everything from a homeless woman to a wealthy Theater Patron/Tony Voter friend of Eileen Rand, Anjelica Huston's character, on Smash. A former theater critic/feature writer for Backstage, Stages, and The Providence Journal, she has penned juvenile biographies (Amelia Earhart, Anne Hutchinson), written for Time-Life Books, and done editorial work at Condé Nast, The New York Review of Books, and many other NYC newspapers, magazines, and publishing companies.
