Halfdan Ullmann Tøndel is a Norwegian director and screenwriter who carries cinema in his blood, being Liv Ullman and Ingmar Bergman’s grandson. His short film “Bird Hearts” (2025) was screened at Toronto, Karlovy Vary and Palm Springs, among other well-known film festivals, and “Fanny” (2017) at Aspen and Busan Film Festival. He has picked up several awards along the way, and also two Norwegian Academy Nominations for Best Short Film. He has already developed his first feature “ARMAND” (2024), which premiered at 77th Cannes Film Festival in the Un Certain Regards section.
