She got her big break in 2016 when she earned a series regular role on the new television show American Woman (2018) starring alongside of actresses Alicia Silverstone and Mena Suvari. The show, debuting in 2018 on the new Paramount Network, takes place in the 1970's and is based on the real life story of Kyle Richards. Makenna plays the role of "Becca", the rebellious and intellectual daughter of "Bonnie" played by Alicia Silverstone. Working on American Woman has been a dream come true for Makenna, allowing her to showcase her comedic strengths while simultaneously exploring the issues of racism, inequality, and the feminist movement. Makenna is also known for her recurring role on the Emmy and Golden Globe winning series, Transparent (2014), where she plays the part of Young Sara. The role has afforded her the great honor of learning from and working with award winning actors, Jeffrey Tambor and Judith Light. Makenna's future goals include obtaining an extraordinary collegiate education, continuing her environmental activism, and blazing a path in politics.
