Cassäundra Sloan is a Canadian director, writer and actress who originated as an actor in independent Canadian films such as Adrian Konstant's 'I Was a Greenhouse' (2013) and Ingrid Veninger's 'Porcupine Lake' (2017). In 2018, she founded production company Girl North Studios to produce her first short film 'Alien Ramen', which she wrote and directed. Since then, the company quickly scaled into a full-fledged production studio best known for supporting women-helmed projects and in 2021, Sloan founded publishing, broadcasting and media outlet, The Girl North, as an expansion of the women-centric community. In 2023, non-profit The Girl North Foundation became an addition to the studio mission with the intent on supporting causes that champion women and girls. Sloan has a Bachelor of Arts in English and History from the University of Toronto and has been an avid Martial Artist since the age of three.
