While born in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, Mandi grew up in Windsor spending holidays in the Sault Ste. Marie area where her grandparents and uncle live. Performing and creative arts have always been her passion. Her mother enrolled her in a local ballet school when she was six years old where she had her first opportunity to perform in front of an audience when she was cast as the Sorcerer's Apprentice. By the time she was twelve, she'd written, directed and performed in several plays which she performed for family and friends in her basement alongside her sister as well as participated in numerous school productions. At the end of 1998, she and her small family moved back to northern Ontario - St. Joseph Island - where she attended and graduated from CASS. While there, she participated in several school productions, playing Cleopatra in Shakespeare's 'Antony and Cleopatra,' and Romeo in Shakespeare's 'Romeo and Juliet.' Her film debut was in 2005 when she played Miss Fahey's Assistant in the first feature film to come to her hometown of Sault Ste. Marie. With her passion renewed by the prospects of pursuing her dream career in her hometown, Mandi began auditioning for every production that came to town. With principal casting taking place outside of Sault Ste. Marie, however, there were often only opportunities for background roles. You can see her in 'The Collaborator' (Martin Donovan) in the audience, and 'Swearnet' (Warren P. Sonodo) as one of the Liquorman's Sponsor Girls. In 2013, she had the biggest opportunity yet when she went for an audition for locally filmed and produced October 30th: All Hallows Eve. While she didn't get the role she auditioned for, she did manage to become a big part of the film's evolution, working closely with Director/Writer Ryan Byrne and young Director of Photography, Zack Trunzo. She has signed on with ACE Inc., the production company behind the October 30th trilogy, for the final two films of the series.
