Michael R. King

Michael R. King was born May 14, 1970, in Saigon, Vietnam, to an American father and a Vietnamese mother. He affectionately refers to himself as a war baby. As a Navy brat, he moved often during his childhood, but considers Long Beach, MS, and Woodinville, WA, his homes. After a tumultuous adolescence, he enlisted in the army and became an airborne infantryman with the 82nd Airborne Division (HUA!) and afterward served in the US Navy as well. Michael first became interested in acting when he took drama classes at Redmond High School in Redmond, WA, playing significant roles in Up the Down Staircase and Westside Story. However, his pursuits in acting came to a screeching halt upon enlistment in the Army. However, after a short 25-year hiatus from the industry, the acting bug reared its head once again and propelled him back into the spotlight. After several auditions, he was signed by Global One Ltd and invited to participate in World Wide Star Search 2013, where he won an award for Best Host.
