Claire Frances Byrne

Winning the Aer Lingus Discovery Award for emerging talent in the Irish screen industry at DIFF 2020, her two most recent short films have been very successful in Irish and international film festivals. 'Sister This', her Screen Ireland funded short film was nominated for an IFTA in 2020 and received a special mention at Foyle Film Festival. Ascending Grace funded by the Bumble UK Female Film Force has won best short comedy at LA and New York Indie Film Festivals and screened recently at Flickerfest in Australia. Claire was chosen as part of the Screen Ireland and SDGI's Director's Conceptual Fund for which she received money to develop a feature film script with writer Tracy Martin, this project is called 'Wrapped' Along with her writing partner Karen Healy, she is in development with their feature film 'Daughterhood' which was a successful project in the X-Pollinator Incubator scheme where 5 projects were selected to create a feature film treatment and pitch book with the support of a producer, a script editor and a designer.
