Jo Røislien is a Norwegian mathematician and science communicator. He holds a PhD in engineering (2004), and is a professor in medical statistics, with nearly 100 scientific publications in international journals. He has developed, scripted and hosted science TV series for national broadcasters in Scandinavia, as well as internationally selected science short films. He is perhaps most known for his work on maths infotainment success series Siffer (2011) and the poetic maths road trip Chasing the World's Largest Number (2013). He was the first ever Norwegian host on Discovery Channel (2012).
