Initially a backup Safety, Johnson started 10 games during the 2009 season, and eventually starting in more games the following years. Johnson proved to be a key special player in 2012, racking up 64 yards on two fake punts and picking up first downs after runs of 24 and 40 yards. He became the ninth player in franchise history with three interception returns for touchdowns.
