Ogechi Musa was born on July 6th, 1992 into a seven member Nigerian family in Connecticut. She was always interested in acting and writing throughout childhood and dreamed of having a career in the filmmaking industry. Due to cultural pressures of receiving the highest education as a first-generation American, these hidden dreams were secretly pursued in high school through theatre acting, improv classes, and creative writing courses. Upon moving to Boston to attend Boston College, where she studied Neuroscience and Psychology, she continued to write plays, take acting courses, act/produce campus webseries and local Boston plays. In Boston, her writing career started to take off as her plays were selected and featured in local and school arts festivals. Furthermore, she was introduced to the indie filmmaking world in Boston during her year off of college. In Boston, she wrote, produced, directed, and starred in her debut, feature film about police brutality: Friction. Since then, she has continued her career as a writer/producer/director and has numerous productions completed. Musa is now living in Los Angeles, continuing her rise as a social conscious filmmaker.
