Karen Musey was born in Edmonton, Alberta to Russian Ukranian parents who worked as a hospital pharmacist and a warehouse director. As a child she hiked along faerie paths in Canada's National Parks, dueled piano duets with her sister, painted pottery and climbed questionable trees with her cousins on her grandparents' farm. Karen was a scholarship student at the Royal Winnipeg Ballet and had the great privilege of being coached by Hungarian ballerina Julia Arkos. She performed internationally with The Young Americans, the band Phish (at Madison Square Garden), The Canadian Opera Company in their world premiere of The Wagner Ring Cycle, the Canadian Winter Games and sailed the Hawaiian waters with Norwegian Cruise Lines. In New York she branched out into performing musical comedy, Lecoq clown, stand up comedy, improv (UCB) and writing for Huffington Post and 4dancers.com. While healing from an injury Karen was certified in the Usui Reiki (III) lineage and pursued healing modalities including yoga, Alexander Technique and more. She is a proud mom of rescue cat Caida and is deeply committed to nature and wildlife conservation efforts and disruptive dark comedy.
