Eleanor Wells is a writer, director and actress. She has written and directed two shorts; her first, Eagle Rock (2019) follows the first follower of a Charles Manson-like cult leader in the 1960s, and her second, Time in a Bottle (2022) follows the emotionally abusive marriage of a young photographer in 1970s Milwaukee. She is in production on her debut feature film, Under the Apple Tree, about a depressed theater actress searching for a greater meaning of her life. In high school, her short script The Harpist was one one of five finalists in a local screenwriting competition, beating out over three hundred submissions. The script attracted the attention of local filmmakers and was filmed in the spring of her senior year. She graduated from Emerson College in 2017, a semester early, with a BA in Media Arts Production. Eleanor's approach to storytelling comes from Atticus Finch's words in To Kill a Mockingbird: "You never really understand a person until you consider things from their point of view- until you climb around in their skin and walk around in it." She founded her production company, Cinderella Pictures, in 2020, in order to elevate feminine perspectives that have traditionally been excluded from media. She also performed in several stage productions, most memorably as a lauded turn as Laura Wingfield in Tennessee Williams' classic The Glass Menagerie. Additionally, she wrote and hosted the first season of the Double Elvis podcast About A Girl (2020-), following the women who inspired the music of their famous musician partners. Born and raised in in the suburbs of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, she and her older brother were raised by a single mother. From a very early age, she fell in love with the power that stories have to convey universal truths about the human experience.
