Birgir Örn Steinarsson is an Icelandic artist and a psychologist. He's been involved in Iceland's music scene since his teens and released several albums with his rock band Maus and other outlets. Life in a Fishbowl (Vonarstræti) was his first attempt at screenwriting. Birgir and co-writer, director Baldvin Z, won the Icelandic academy award (Edda) for their efforts. They have since then continued their working relationship and Birgir contributed to Baldvin's documentary film Beyond Strength and they co-wrote Baldvin's third feature film Let me fall (Lof mér að falla) released in September of 2018. Both films that Baldvin Z and Birgir have worked on together reference Birgir's old band Maus in their title. Life in a fishbowl was a song on the bands fifth album Musick and Let me fall was the title of the bands third album.
