Divinity Roxx is a multi-hyphenate Grammy-nominated musician, recording artist, author, and composer celebrated for her empowering lyrics and infectious bass grooves. Her career as a bass player skyrocketed after touring with 5-time Grammy award-winning bass virtuoso, Victor Wooten. She has toured and performed with Beyoncé as her bassist and Musical Director. She was a featured soloist on the 'Beyoncé Experience' tour and DVD and composed original music for the 'I...AM Sasha Fierce' tour. She has appeared on countless television shows, including The Grammy's, SNL, Good Morning America, and more, with personal highlights including a special performance at The White House with President Barack Obama. She has been a guest instructor at the BIMM Music School (UK, Germany, Dublin) as well as Carnegie Hall. She was hand-picked to teach the 'Art of Emceeing' in Santo Domingo with the US State Department's Cultural Diplomacy Program, 'Next Level'. Divinity is furthering her mission to inspire and empower others through her newly formed production company, Divi Roxx Kids. In 2021, Scholastic Inc. released two picture books based on songs from her debut, full-length Family Music album, 'Ready Set Go!' The album was nominated for 'Best Children's Music Album' in 2022. She was invited to perform at the 2023 'White House Easter Egg Roll' in 2023. Divinity's original compositions can be heard on television shows like 'Love and Hip-Hop Atlanta', 'Black Monday', 'The Bold Type' and others. Her voice-over work includes commercials for Progressive, White Castle, Excedrin, and a leading role as Leetah in the 'Elfquest' audio movie. She co-composed music for the TYA play, 'The Boy Who Kissed The Sky,' written by Idris Goodwin and produced by the Tony Award-Winning Alliance Theater (Atlanta) and Seattle Children's Theater. She made her debut as a playwright and actor in the world premiere of 'Starchild: The Ballad of Debbie Walker' at Crossroads Theater in New Brunswick, New Jersey in 2023. Divinity was born and raised in Atlanta, Ga. She lives in New Jersey. She is a proponent of the rights of performing musicians and songwriters and continues to speak out against pay inequity and gender bias. She is serving her first term as Governor of the New York Chapter of the Recording Academy and looks forward to continuing advocating for the rights of musicians and artists in the US. Divinity lives in New Jersey with her family. She will join the Berklee Online teaching staff in the fall as she continues to produce multiple projects. She composed music for a new theater production, 'The Boy Who Kissed The Sky', in association with The Alliance Theater (Atlanta) and The Seattle Children's Theater. She is developing a debut one-woman stage show, The Ballad of Debbie Walker with Crossroads Theater (NJ), touring with her band, and developing a new series of children's books.
