Alice Tsui was born and raised in San Jose, California. She graduated from Chapman University with a BFA in Film Production, with an emphasis in directing. Alice's passion for acting took root in sixth grade, when she took her first acting class. From there, she went on to perform in school stage productions, and her love for entertaining grew. At thirteen, she became involved in school choirs, where she developed a love for singing. In high school, Alice began to create small promotional videos for her high school's theater program's main stage productions alongside small video sketches for her YouTube channel. Her first year at Chapman, Alice was declared as an Integrated Educational Studies major, on track to become a teacher. During her first semester, however, she worked on her first professional film set as a production assistant on an independent feature. Her passion for filmmaking revealed itself then, and Alice applied to switch her major to film production in the Dodge College of Film and Media Arts. After being accepted into the program, she went on to direct three short films, Uncovered (2016), Unexpected Gaieties (2017), and Lulu's Lunchbox (2017).
