Born in Belgium, Dominique Dauwe started auditioning as a musician for theater productions while studying Piano at The Jazz Studio in Antwerp. During the workshop of a Festival d'Avignon production, he found acting and moved to London to further his career as an actor. Volunteering his time at music programs in London's inner-city schools, he was introduced to Special Needs Education. Here, he shifted his career from the stage to music and sensory rooms around East London Schools, eventually committing to a Special Needs School in Bethnal Green. A teaching colleague introduced him to Jabberwocky, a Non-Profit for people with disabilities on Martha's Vineyard, MA. After years of volunteering at an off-shoot, The Cheshire Project in Venice, CA, he became part of Zeno Mountain Farm in Lincoln, VT. Here, he picked up acting again, encouraged by actor and director friends also volunteering at Zeno Mountain Farm, the subject of the Documentary by Michael Barnett, Becoming Bulletproof (2014). Committing to Los Angeles, he quickly landed parts in TV and film. Not too long after, he started producing and scoring. Together with Jamie Lee Curtis, Ted Danson, Mary Steenburgen, and Amy Brenneman, he is an Executive Producer, and musician on the soundtrack, for "Best Summer Ever," with Maggie Gyllenhaal, Peter Sarsgaard, and Benjamin Pratt (2020). "Best Summer Ever" was initially set to have its world premiere at the SXSW 2020 Film Festival until its cancellation due to the Coronavirus. This was the first time in history that SXSW was ever canceled, but "Best Summer Ever" won the Final Draft Screenwriters Award SXSW 2020.
