Seda Egridere is a Turkish born actress and a director known outside her country as the "Turkish Delight." She was born in Bursa, Turkey and grew up in Istanbul, Turkey. She moved to Evansville, Wisconsin in her senior year of high school as an exchange student and participated in several stage productions at Evansville High School and many community theaters in Wisconsin. She went on to appear in many more productions and TV commercials both in her native country and internationally. Despite starting to gain recognition as an actress and being accepted to prestigious acting schools, she chose to double-major in Psychology and English Literature at Bogazici University, an ivy-league university in Istanbul, Turkey. Upon graduation, she decided to follow her first passion and pursued a career in filmmaking and acting when she got accepted to the renowned acting school, The Lee Strasberg Theater and Film Institute following in the footsteps of many successful actors such as Dustin Hoffman, Al Pacino, Robert De Niro and 'Angelina Jolie' )qv). After acting in many plays, commercials and music videos in her native country and in the United States, in 2010, Seda had her film debut in the feature film Alina with the famous Turkish actor Tamer Karadagli. Consulting director for the film was Bobby Roth whose work includes Prison Break (2005), Lost (2004), Revenge (2011) and Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. (2013). As a result of a legal dispute between the producers, the film is still pending theatrical release for 2016. After Alina, Seda appeared in a guest role in Hicaz (2011), the directorial debut of Erdal Rahmi Hanay. In 2014, she appeared in the lead role for the feature film Inside Out and started working on her directorial debut Seasons of War, a film about the struggles of a multi-ethnic couple in Sarajevo during the siege of the city in early 90s. She had the idea for the film when she was traveling in the Balkans, doing research on her own family history and their experiences in Bulgaria in the 1950s and 1970s. Realizing the suffering of the individuals under racist regimes and war are always the same regardless of country and time period, she wrote the script for Seasons of War. The film will be released in 2015. Apart from her filmmaking and acting work, Seda runs multiple businesses and works with many charitable organizations across the world.
