Burgert Muller was Executive Producer for South Africa's first Soap, EGOLI - Place of Gold on M-Net, when it wrapped after 18 years in 2009. He started as Production Manager and assisted Franz Marx and The Directors Team to set-up this production that paved the way for other Soap operas in South Africa. EGOLI was ground-breaking in terms of Long-form recording, Product Placement, Broadcasting, Publicity & PR strategies. His 26 year career in the Film & Television industry includes television series' like Adam (Franz Marx), Veldslag (Danie Odendaal), Swart Kat & Wenners (Brigadiers), The Game II (Heyns Films) and The Res (Franz Marx), for SABC a number of music videos as well as various International feature films. He produced two Afrikaans feature films, The EGOLI Movie and Susanna van Biljon, in 2010. Burgert was Director of Edge Entertainment in 2011 and 2012, focusing on the development of Advertiser Funded Programs, publicity & PR for the glitzy Mnet soap The Wild and the raising of sponsorship for the Afrikaans Soap Villa Rosa. He gained extensive experience in international distribution through his attendance of MIP (Cannes) since the mid-nineties. Burgert was also Co-creator and - producer of the EGOLI Roadshows that were staged at shopping centers and stadiums around the country, attracting up to 40 000 fans at events in Cape Town & Margate. He extended his experience in live events and stage shows by Co-producing the EGOLI Skouspel shows and the popular Bravo Music Festival. Burgert received a BA Ed degree from the Free State University majoring in Mathematics, Psychology, Afrikaans and Pedagogics. He taught Mathematics at Grey Kollege in Bloemfontein, before joining the Entertainment industry in the late 80's. He joined Urban Brew Studios in 2012 as Series Producer on iNkaba - Telenovela (208 episodes) for Mzansi Magic, Zabalaza Season 1 to 3 - Telenovela for Mzansi Magic (624 episodes) Gold Diggers Season 1 & 2 - Telenovela (156 episodes) for eTV. (310 episodes) In January 2016, he was appointed as Production Controller at Urban Brew Studios, overseeing the set-up and running of the Scripted Division. He is also involved in the acquisition of various Unscripted Productions for the VIA Channel, mentorship & training programs as well as conceiving and setting up new Production structures at Urban Brew Studios.
