Ian McCarthy

Born and raised in Austin, TX, Ian McCarthy has always had an interest in photography and composition. He got his start in the film industry in transportation in 2012 starting out as a union driver, then moving to DOT/Dispatch roles. Wanting more of a challenge and fulfilling a long-time passion of his, Ian eventually left the industry all-together to pursue a career in aviation. Ian combined his love with flying with film and quickly grew a popular YouTube channel, Critical Angle, focused around helicopter aviation. As a successful helicopter pilot still with ties to the film industry, Ian ended up branching into being in front of the camera as well as helping to coordinate aircraft in movies and TV for his contacts in the transportation field.
