Damiano Femfert (*1985) is a German-Italian writer. His debut novel Rivenports Freund (Schöffling, 2020) was described on national TV by critic Denis Scheck as "the literary discovery of the spring". In 2021 he was selected by Akademie der Künste Berlin as well as by the city of Rottweil for Residencies. In terms of film, he co-wrote the documentary Caveman (2021), which premiered in Venice and won the Solinas prize for Best Screenplay. He contributes occasionally with national newspapers such as Frankfurter Allgemeine and Sueddeutsche Zeitung. Besides his work as a writer, he is also involved in the art world as a curator and university-lecturer in Rome, where he lives.
