Mariela Ticas was born and raised in Los Angeles, California, to a single mother. Mariela is of Salvadorian and Mexican descent. Although she is the youngest of three, she was raised as an only child in America. As a teen, she began channeling the struggles of teenage-hood into her poetry writing. She got her start in show business with a print modeling job for Lucky Brand Jeans back in 2010. Shortly after, she decided to take a chance and attend an open casting call in Hollywood. Not only did she land the audition, but discovered a platform where her passion for acting came to life. At the time, Mariela was working in the medical field, but her heart kept longing to become part of the acting industry. Two years later, she decided to walk away from her medical career and grow her skill set by training at the Joanne Baron/D.W. Brown Studio in Santa Monica in 2012. That's where her love for acting flourished. In the past years, Mariela has been working hard to continue learning and reaching set goals. In 2014, she signed with Rock Kandy Management as a model. In 2015, she co-created and starred as the lead role in the suspenseful Pilot web series "My Last Video Diary" based on a Mexican mafia family. In 2016, she joined SAG-AFTRA, reaching a milestone in her acting career. In 2018, Mariela continually stars as a co-host for "The Strange Kamelion Show" podcast, with the character name "Strange." Currently, she co founded Make A Song Foundation, a nonprofit that grants song wishes to children with a chronic or terminal illness. On her spare time, she's a contributor blogger for "All The Real Parts" under her column "Mariela Talks". Nevertheless, she enjoys giving back and regularly volunteers for The Motion Picture & Television Fund!
