Eduardo Cantarino

Eduardo Cantarino was born in 1985, in Juiz de Fora, Brazil. He is a Director, Producer, Screenwriter, Editor and Musician based in Rio de Janeiro. Graduated in Film Studies at Universidade Federal Fluminense - UFF. Since 2006 he works on audiovisual, performing different roles. He is associate and founder of Dilúvio Produções. As a Director, he has made the Short Film "The Passenger", premiered in Brazil in 2013, for which he received the Best Screenplay nomination at V Festival de Cinema de Jericoacoara. The film has been selected by more than 25 festivals from all over the world, being screened in Brazil, Austria, Portugal, Colombia, USA, Kosovo, Chile. The film has just been licensed to Canal Brasil (TV Chanel), and will be released on TV this year in Brazil. He was Producer of "Yorimatã", by Rafael Saar; he was Director of Production of "The Death of JP Cuenca", by JP Cuenca; and of "State of Exception", directed by Juan Posada, selected by Rio de Janeiro Int'l Film Festival 2012 and by São Paulo International Film Festival 2012. He was Producer of Sound of "The Silver Cliff", by Karim Aïnouz, selected by 64º Cannes Festival; Producer of the feature "Apopcalipse after Baby", directed by Rafael Saar. He was Brazil's Producer of "Vertriptical", by Laura Lima, screened at Stockholm Film Festival 2014. And he was Producer on many short-films selected by several important film festivals in Brazil and the world. He was Curator of the Retrospective "O Cinema é Nicholas Ray" ("The Cinema is Nicholas Ray"), placed at Banco do Brasil Cultural Center - CCBB Rio de Janeiro, São Paulo and Brasilia in 2011; he was Editor of it's Catalogue; and Producer in many different film festivals and showcases in Rio de Janeiro, Juiz de Fora and Santa Barbara-CA, USA. Eduardo coordinates Dilúvio's projects. He is producing the feature "Fish", by Rafael Saar. And he is increasingly focusing on his director carrier, developing his first feature film: "The Dance of the Eternal Youth".
