John Maslowski

John is an award winning, director, writer, producer and actor. The New York Film Awards awarded John the Best First Time Screenwriter Award for his short comedy screenplay "The Buffinator". The Los Angeles film Awards awarded him Screenplay of the Month for his first feature screenplay "Selling Death". It was also an official selection of the Beverly Hills Film Festival. His short animated film, "The Balking Dead", won best short animated film by the Hollywood West Wing Film Competition for May 2018. Also, The Hollywood Sun Awards awarded it best short animated film for May 2018. The Independent Horror Movie Awards awarded it best animated short film for June 2018. In addition, it is an official selection of New York Short Film Tuesdays, The 3 Minute Film Festival, The $2 Film Festival, The Aphrodite Film Awards, The Independent Horror Awards, The EyeCatcher Film Festival, The Grapevine Film Festival and The Top Indie Awards Film Festival, The Crashlanded Film Festival, The Silver State Film Festival and The Genre Celebration Festival. His short film, "Arachnoid", was an official selection of the Cleveland International Film Festival. Also, it won the Best One Minute Wonder Film award in the super short film category at the 2017 Winter Alternative Film Festival in Toronto, Canada. Also, The Los Angeles Film Awards awarded "Arachnoid" Honorable Mention in the best microfilm category. The Horror Hotel Film Festival awarded "Arachnoid" third place in the best microfilm category. Also, "Arachnoid", is an official selection of the Inside the Loop Film Festival, Nightmare Island Film Competition, the Art Slope '17 - Shorts in the Slope Film Festival, North by Midwest Micro-Budget Film Festival and the Hong Kong Arthouse Film Festival. The 2016 Cleveland 48 Hour Film Project nominated him for Best Supporting Actor. He has appeared in thirty-five films. The first documentary short film he directed, "Fight for DACA Rally", was a finalist for best documentary in the super short film category at the 2017 Fall Alternative Film Festival. It is also an official selection of the First City Film Festival, the Astoria New York Film Festival and the 3 Minute Film Festival. He has helped produce 63 short films.
