Anzjuli Venter

Anzjuli Venter was born in Bethlehem, South Africa to devoted loving parents, Maureen and Andre, a teacher and a GP. Her older sister Birgitte is a visual artist. Creative from a young age Anzjuli created small shows and entertainment for her family, friends and strangers at school with her best friend, dancing, singing and acting. The family moved to Queensland, Australia in the late 90's. Anzjuli enjoyed music, film, visual arts, violin, piano, singing and some dance lessons at school whilst participating in every Eisteddfod she could. As a youngster she would make comedic videos with her friends using film camera's for their and their families entertainment (before the days of YouTube). Anzjuli joined the local drama group whilst attending college and later studied drama and creative writing at the Queensland University of Technology. Whilst living in Brisbane, Australia, she participated in a number of musicals, short films and local independent theatre productions. In 2016 she was accepted into the Howard Fine Acting studio's full-time program in Melbourne, which furthered her acting training and experience. After moving to Sydney in 2017, Anzjuli has appeared in numerous short films including 'All About Toby', 'The Europe Package' and 'The Holy Grail', she played a boxer in the web-series 'Academy' which has since received distribution with RevryTV and performed in theatre productions such as 'Westerly' and 'Alvida: Goodbye Mother India' (speaking only Hindi). A prolific writer, Anzjuli dedicates time to making her own work through directing, producing and appearing in her web-series 'Acting Investigations', an 8 episode series currently in production. Through years of rigorously training her artistic skills, Anzjuli has developed a strong work ethic that she lovingly slathers on all she does. She's acutely aware that in order to be a great actor, you have to train and be well-rounded, as such she enjoys ongoing dancing, singing, vocal and psychological work to deepen her understanding of her craft, herself and humanity.
