Angela Benton (born May 22, 1981) embodies inspiration. She is a pioneer, a businesswoman, a cancer survivor, and a mother of three. She's the author of Revival: How I Rebuilt a Life for Longevity After Burnout, Cancer, and Heartbreak; an inspirational memoir on hard life and business lessons learned. She is a pioneer of diversity in the technology industry. She founded NewME, the first accelerator for minorities, which has helped entrepreneurs raise over $28 million dollars. She has been honored by Goldman Sachs' 100 Most Intriguing Entrepreneurs, in addition to Fast Company's Most Influential Women In Technology, Business Insiders' 25 Most Influential African-Americans in Technology, Marie Claire's 50 Women Who Rule, and many more. In addition, Benton has been featured in numerous national and international media outlets including CNN's award winning documentary series Black in America: The New Promised Land: Silicon Valley, MSNBC, Bloomberg, Inc, Forbes, and the Wall Street Journal. Based in Miami, the home of the new NewME headquarters, Benton recently released her highly-anticipated first book, REVIVAL, a memoir chronicling her journey through cancer, entrepreneur burnout and loss. REVIVAL lends lifelong insights and lessons learned on rebuilding a better, more sustainable life after setbacks instead of killing yourself chasing success.
