Carter Ryan was born September 8, 2006 in Vancouver, British Columbia to Dorlyn and Carol Evancic. He has an older sister, Vanessa Rae Evancic, who as a young actress inspired Carter to start acting. He began commercial auditions at 8 months old and booked his first commercial shortly after. It wasn't until he was the age of 7 when he decided to start his acting career more seriously. Within a year he booked his first role as a Lead in a Feature Film, Her Infidelity (2015) where he played the son of supermodel/actress Rachel Hunter. He also had appearances in Man in the High Castle, Impastor and Travellers. Carter is known for his role as Cody on the popular show When Calls the Heart. He walked onto the streets of Hope Valley at the beginning of Season 3 and fans enjoyed watching Carter's character grow for 4 Seasons. He has worked closely with a number of cast members; Lori Loughlin, Jack Wagner, Erin Krakow, Daniel Lissing, Pascale Hutton and Kavan Smith to name a few. As of Fall 2021, his role of Cody has been reprised in Season 2 of When Hope Calls, a spin-off show to When Calls the Heart. Carter loves being on set and meeting new people, and he looks forward to a growing career. Carter has also been recognized with 6 nominations and 4 wins for his role as Cody in When Calls the Heart; Young Entertainer Award [Winner] (2017) Best Recurring Young Actor 10 & Under - TV Series, Young Artist Award [Winner] (2017) Best Performance in a TV Series - Recurring Young Actor and The Joey Awards [Winner] (2018) and (2016) Best Ensemble in a TV Series. When he is not working on his acting and training he enjoys being with his family, friends and dog, Baxter. He loves to go biking, hiking and keeping fit. He has played Box Lacrosse since the age of 8 years old and enjoys all school sports, in particular Basketball and Track and Field.
